Last updated July 22, 2026. We have tried to write this in plain language, because terms you cannot follow are not much use to anyone. It explains what you can expect from My Watch Guru on mywatchguru.com, and what we need from you in return. Using the site or ordering from it means you agree to it.
My Watch Guru is a specialist watch consultancy and retailer in Los Angeles, working at the address shown at the end of this page. We advise on, authenticate and sell pre-owned and unworn timepieces, straps and accessories. When you buy here you buy from us directly — we are the seller, we hold the stock, and we are the party you would come back to if something were wrong.
This one matters, so we will be blunt about it. We are not an authorized dealer for any watch brand, and we are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Cartier, Panerai or any other manufacturer referenced on this site. If you want factory-fresh stock with a manufacturer’s own warranty, an authorized boutique is the right place to go and we will tell you so. We name brands, collections and references purely so you know what you are looking at, and every one of those trademarks — along with the makers’ own product photography — belongs to its owner.
We describe each watch as carefully as we can, and we would still rather you asked than assumed. Errors do happen. A listing is an invitation for you to buy, not a contract we have already entered into, and the price and the availability you see can both change before an order is accepted. If two prices are shown, the lower applies to payment by bank wire and the higher includes the cost of card processing, generally in the region of 3.5%. We keep the right to fix a mistake, limit how many of something one customer takes, or decline or cancel an order — and if we cancel one you have already paid for, you are refunded in full.
It means one of our specialists has had the watch in hand, opened it up where appropriate, and satisfied themselves it is genuine and correctly described before it went out the door. What it does not mean is manufacturer backing: unless we say otherwise in writing, the watch is pre-owned or unworn, and any service cover behind it is ours, not the maker’s. A remaining factory warranty is never something we can promise. Condition, and whether the box and papers are present, is spelled out on each listing.
You can pay by bank wire or by card, with card payments handled securely by Stripe, plus any other methods we show at checkout. For expensive pieces we may ask you to confirm your identity or your billing details, or ship only to the billing address — it protects you as much as it protects us. Sales tax is worked out at checkout where it applies. The watch becomes yours once your payment has cleared in full.
We cover shipping on orders of $1,000 or more, and everything we ship goes out fully insured and requires a signature; the detail is on our Shipping & Delivery page. Our Returns & Exchanges policy is part of these terms. In outline: tell us within seven days of delivery, send the watch back unworn and in the condition it reached you, and once it is approved we refund the method you paid with — or arrange an exchange if you would rather swap than refund.
Every valuation we give before seeing the watch is a starting estimate, and it stays an estimate until our specialists have inspected and authenticated the piece in person. Where you trade in, the credit is applied at checkout as a payment after tax rather than as a discount before it. In selling or trading to us you are confirming that the watch is legally yours, that nothing is owed or secured against it, and that you have described it accurately.
Use the site honestly: no false information, no misuse, nothing that infringes another person’s rights, and no attempt to disrupt our systems or reach parts of them you have not been given access to. Everything we publish is here for your own personal, non-commercial use.
The site is offered as it stands. As far as the law permits, implied warranties beyond those written into these terms are excluded, and our total liability connected with any transaction will not go beyond the amount you paid us for that watch. None of this touches liability that the law does not allow to be limited, and it takes nothing away from your statutory rights as a consumer.
These terms fall under the law of the State of California, leaving conflict-of-law rules aside, and any dispute goes exclusively to the state or federal courts sitting in Los Angeles County, California, unless applicable law says it must go elsewhere.
